Free VIN number
When starting your company formation in Ireland Irish Formations will now offer a free VIN number with every Incorporation. Starting from June 11th, 2023, when completing specific forms, individuals serving as company directors will be mandated to furnish their Personal Public Service (PPS) numbers or a VIN number for foreign Directors.
VIF Application Process:
In cases where you lack a PPSN for example if you are not living in Ireland and wish to incorporate in Ireland, there exist two alternatives. Should you have previously established a company, you may already be registered in the Register of Beneficial Owners, resulting in the possession of an RBO number. This identifier can be used for identity verification in all correspondence with the Companies Registration Office (CRO). Alternatively, if you possess neither a PPSN nor an RBO number, you can initiate an application for a free VIN number. The procedure for obtaining this number is straightforward and seamless, and we are capable of assisting you through the registration process.
Submission of B1 Form:
The B1 First Annual Return must be submitted six months subsequent to your company’s incorporation date. However, the B1 cannot be lodged prior to the exact day of return. In this regard, we will reach out to you on the specific day, providing you with a signature form that requires completion and return. It is essential to note that proceeding with the submission process necessitates the inclusion of either a PPS number or a VIN number. Filing the B1 Form is an obligatory step for every company, and maintaining compliance is of utmost importance.
Steps for Acquiring a VIN:
Before the due date of your Annual Return, we will contact you to verify your PPS number. Should you not possess one, we will furnish you with a VIF Application Form, pre-filling some details for your convenience. After signing and notarizing the form, you can return it to us. Subsequently, we will submit the application to the CRO. Once sanctioned, you will be provided with a VIN number. This identifier authorizes us to proceed with filing your B1 Annual Return and will be applicable for any future submissions to the CRO. It is crucial to be aware that should you hold a PPSN on record and subsequently apply for a VIN, your company may incur penalties or fines from the CRO.
